Our Training & Classes

Students and enthusiasts of martial arts have many reasons for their interest in the martial arts. Some are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Others seek to add discipline and self control to their lives. While still others are concerned about safety and self-defense.

Each class at the Jundokan Martial Arts Academy consists of stretching and strength training exercises, as well as, speed and endurance drills.

Our brand of martial arts is a mixed martial art (MMA) and thus is not devoted to just one style. Self-defence training incorporates a diverse mix of techniques from many styles and chosen for their overall effectiveness under different situations.

The Jundokan Martial Arts Academy utilizes the most effective techniques from the following arts:

Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do or Korean Karate is the supreme kicking style and is very useful in utilizing its large array of kicking skills for longer than arms distance combat.

Hapkido
Hapkido or Korean Grappling has a number of elements that work well in close combat situations that does not allow distance techniques to be utilized.

Go-Ju Ryu Karate-Do
Go-Ju Ryu Karate is one of the oldest of the Okinawan styles utilizing hard and soft elements to attain victory in combat.

Japanese Jiu Jitsu
Japanese Jiu Jitsu is referred to as "The Gentle Art" ,however, a very effective art that utilizes balance to use your opponents strength against himself. A must know art for the serious martial artist.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the premier art of ground combat. Many combat situation lead to ground combat and this style is at home on the ground. It utilizes hip movement, balance and submission holds like no other.

American Kick-Boxing
Kick-Boxing teaches footwork, range finding and defensive movements while punching and kicking.

Muay thai
Muay Thai or Thailand Boxing also teaches footwork, range finding and defensive movements while punching and kicking with added knee and elbow mid range techniques.

Shaolin Kung Fu
Shaolin Kung Fu is one of the oldest arts on record and has such a variety of techniques and weapons types as to be a very valuable asset in ones arsenal.

Wu Su
Chinese Wu Su is also one of the oldest arts and contains a variety of techniques and weapons types as to be a very valuable asset in ones arsenal.
